Do Grip Socks Actually Do Anything?

Short answer: yes, but not for the reason the marketing says.

Do Grip Socks Actually Do Anything?

The pitch is that grip socks improve traction and therefore performance. The measurable effect is smaller than that.

What they reliably do is stop your foot sliding inside the shoe. That is not a speed benefit, it is a blister benefit — and, on hard cuts, a confidence benefit, because a foot that is not shifting lets you plant without hedging.

The silicone tread on these covers the full footbed rather than just the ball of the foot, which is the right choice. Cushioning is moderate; if you like a thin sock these will feel bulky.

Worth it if you play more than twice a week. Marginal if you do not.
